Marvin Hutchens

Marvin served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 1986 to June 1992, including service in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm to liberate Kuwait. After his time in the Marine Corps, Marvin attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This was followed by a career in information technology and telecommunications.

Marvin began writing online in June 2004, and at his personal blog wrote primarily on national security, social and political issues. Marvin began the site xthreats.com (Threats Watch) to further capture resources and insight into issues of national security. Threats Watch was shelved as ThreatsWatch was founded in the summer of 2005.

At ThreatsWatch, Marvin will focus on strategic issues of national security and policy. Particular areas of interest and coverage will include East Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Europe and Russia. Marvin's familiarity with Islam and with the Arabic language will also facilitate his analysis and commentary on the War on Terror. Marvin's other writing will focus on issues relating to liberty and its defense around the world.

Marvin is a co-Founder of ThreatsWatch and of the Center for Threat Awareness where he serves on the Board of Directors.
