Joshua Goodman is the director of research at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD). At FDD, Josh oversees the execution of all of the research division's projects. He also specializes in Iranian and GCC affairs, non-proliferation issues, Terrorism in Canada, and the radicalization of Arabic and Farsi media. Prior to joining FDD, Josh held the positions of research director and research fellow at NGOs in both Canada and the United States. While working in Canada, Josh authored comprehensive studies on the Muslim community in Canada and its foreign language press. He is also the author of articles and analyses on Iranian domestic politics and the policy options to combat its nuclear threat.
A native of Toronto, Canada, Josh received at B.A. (hons) in Modern History and Religious Studies from York University. From 2003-2005, he completed a M.A. in Middle East and North African History at Tel Aviv University.
Josh is proficient in Hebrew, French, Arabic, and Farsi.
