Hitting Iran?

ThreatsWatch's Steve Schippert took part in FrontPage Magazine's latest symposium. Along with Thomas Joscelyn, Dr. Michael A. Ledeen, Dr. Rohan Gunaratna, Lt. Gen. Tom McInerney, Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa and FrontPage's Jamie Glazov, Steve responds to the question of whether or not it's time for the US to launch a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

It is an interesting and informative read. And one we highly recommend.

Not to say "I told you so", but I can't help but wonder what Michael Ledeen is thinking about his statements: "I'm inclined to believe that Iran already has nuclear weapons" and "He may have a hundred thousand centrifuges by now" in light of the 2007 NIE on Iran?

Ledeen's comments are as valid as they were before the NIE.

I wouldn't put the weight of Ft. Knox in the latest NIE. We've had off-the-mark NIE's before.

I need to finish reading it in full first, however, rather than skimming reportage before commenting further.

Be sure to read the press release of DNI Kerr on why this NIE was finally released, as well as the spin that Stephen Hadley put on it for the White House. If you can't find the links, I have them at my related post on IntelFusion.net.
